The Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has fulfilled his promise of convening a meeting between the Minister of Creative Arts and some musicians.

Kojo made this promise to Stonebwoy in an Instagram Live conversation a few weeks ago.

After the promise Stonebwoy asked that they included young musicians in meetings involving creative artistes.

“We have to get the younger ones, also plus the elderly ones who are always fighting for us. My humble opinion is that most of these things they don’t look attractive to us because most of feel like there is nothing going on so we have to focus on what we can run instead of sort of wasting time where people that we trust can fix things are there already,” he noted.

In the Instagram Live interaction with the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the ‘Nominate’ hitmaker said the reason the younger generation of musicians hardly pays attention to industry issues is that it has not been made to be attractive.

He mentioned that he, Shatta Wale, Samini, Ponobiom, Medikal, King Promise, Darko Vibes and the like as musicians who need to be part of these meetings.

In fulfilment of the promise, Kojo has held a zoom meeting with the Minister of Tourism Arts and Culture, Barbara Oteng Gyasi and some musicians including Stonebwoy, EL, Trigmatic, Efya, Creative Arts Council President Mark Okraku Mante and Acting MUISGA President Bessa Simons.

The conversation was about the use of digital channels to enhance the revenue streams of creative artists in the era of COVID-19 and to rally support for creative arts bill.

Over the years, it has been observed that younger and active musicians hardly pay attention to issues pertaining to industry structure and systems.

Most of these musicians would not attend summits, meetings, and forums organized for creative artistes. These programme, have invariably become the preserve of the old and inactive artists.

Stonebwoy is currently out with his ‘Anloga Junction’ album which is already gaining high recognition on both the local and international music market.
