Despite all the resistance from opposition parties and persons, the Electoral Commission (EC) begins the compilation of a new voters’ register starting from Tuesday June 30 to August 6 2020.
Per the Supreme Court’s ruling last week, only a Ghana Card or Ghanaian passport or will make a person eligible to the registration.
According to the EC, over 44,000 people have been recruited to help facilitate the registration and to ensure safety in this period of the coronavirus pandemic, 7,000 health personnel have been made available to the cause across polling stations while 8,000 voters biometric kits have also been deployed for use on the field.
