American rapper, Kanye West has announced his intention to run for president of the United States barely few months to elections.
Although it is not the first time he spoke about wanting to be in the White House, he made it clear on July 4th as America marked independence that he is running in this year’s election.
Back in 2015 at the MTV Video Music Awards, he stated that he had decided to run for president in 2020.
But last November he changed his mind from the initial 2020 to 2024 and now that he has declared, it is not clear if he is running on any political party’s ticket.
In a tweet yesterday, he said, “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States” adding the flag of America and the hashtag, Vision 2020.
We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States 🇺🇸! #2020VISION

The 2020 United States presidential election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2020. It is also not clear if he has officially filed for the position.
Social media has been divided over the tweet. Some are pledging their support while others feel Taylor Swift is a better choice and some also say he should just remain supporting Trump. Others are also digging up offensive comments the rapper had made in the past.
And Taylor has 3 times as many followers as Kanye & more than Trump! She’s also 1,000% more rational than both of them combined.

His wife, Kim showed her support by retweeting and replying the tweet with the American flag while entrepreneur Elon Musk clearly pledged support.
