Media person Afia Schwarzenegger has called on women empowerment groups and feminists to throw their full support behind Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.
Last week, the National Democratic Congress’ flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama chose Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as his running mate for the 2020 general elections.
During an interview on Citi TV’s Upside Down, Afia Schwarzenegger noted that although she does not have the patience to go into politics, she is fully supporting any woman who wants to change the narrative.
She said women do better than men when they are entrusted with things and that she believes women have been sidelined for far too long.
“For once we have a serious woman; not Akua Donkor. We have a serious reputable woman who wants to stir the affairs and I feel women can be entrusted with things better than men so it’s about time. If Bawumia is replaced with a woman, we will gladly throw our support behind her,” she stated.
“I’m calling on all women empowerment groups, feminists, I mean everybody that believes that the woman’s place is not the kitchen, this is the time to prove it,” she added.
