Talent manager and music producer, Joshua Raphaelson who is popularly known as JMJ has said the females in the music industry lack the sort of energy that existed.
According to him, although the female acts are doing well, the gap between them and their male colleagues is too wide.
He noted that since Mzvee, Kaakie, Ebony and Efya became inactive as compared to then, no other female act has shown their kind of energy and dominance.
“Truthfully speaking as at now the female side is very dull. For a while now, I haven’t really heard of a female vocalist for a long time now. Somebody who gives me that goosebumps like wow that’s really some talent,” he said in an interview on Bryt TV.
“You see the era of Kaakie, Efya, Mzvee then Ebony; after that era, I haven’t really encountered a real…there are a couple of them doing very well. Like Wendy Shay, Fantana, name all of them. They are doing well but then they lack energy,” he added.
He further explained saying, “We need that vibrant female act that when you’re mentioning the male, you see them there dominating both the female and male side.”
