Musician Kwame A Plus has suggested that the case of the 90-year-old who was lynched should be the yardstick to close down all the witch camps in Ghana.
He described witch camps as a mode for promoting modern-day slavery and that pastors in this day are the cause of such inhumane acts.
According to him, the president is supposed to stand firm and condemn the act like he does when misfortunes happen in other countries.
He said it is as if ministries are pretending to work and government also pretends to be paying them.
“We have Gender Ministry and other ministries but there are over forty witch camps in this country,” adding that the minute someone has mental issues or that they are of age, they are taken to these witch camps and tortured.
“We have to use this to close down all witch camps in Ghana,” he said in a Facebook live video today.
“How can we have a witch camp in 2020? Witch camp for what?” he further stated adding that Captain Mahama’s case should have thought Ghanaians yet cases like this are still recorded.
The 90-year-old Akua Denteh was lynched over the weekend in Kafaba a town near Salaga on allegations of being a witch.
Although the police are still investigating the matter and some petition signing has started on social media, the matter has not been given the attention foreign matters are treated.
