Ghanaian dancer Lloyd popularly known as Dance God Lloyd has disclosed he did not even tell his mother about being featured on the ‘Already’ video although he was tempted to tell.
Dance God Lloyd and his colleagues in the Dance With Purpose Academy (DWP) were featured on Beyonce and Shatta Wale’s ‘Already’, one of the videos that made it on to ‘Black Is King’.
Ghana has been celebrating the dancers, the cinematographer and Shatta Wale for this project.
All the people who got featured and or worked on this video kept it a secret until it was time to let the world see it.
Lloyd noted that they were told not to mention it until the video came out.
According to him, it was not exactly easy to keep a tight lip so all he did was tell it to himself.
In an interview with Naa Adoley Moffat and Emmanuel Olele Sarpong on Citi TV’s 30 Minutes show, he said he has always dreamt about featuring in Beyonce’s video and that he is yet to make noise about this dream come true.
Touching on how he made it to the video, he said, “I joined the Already dance challenge going on on Instagram and people actually loved it and then they were tagging Beyonce and all of that. Two days later, I happen to part of the few people she put in her story and everyone was sending it to me and like they were just praying that they add me to the team.
“That night, one of her choreographers texted me; he was like “bro I need you to be in this video. You killed it so, I’m gonna send you the routine.” He sent it to me I met up with my guys”.
When asked how he was able to keep this to himself until the video was released, he replied, “Do you know how many times I was texting Joshua Kissih and my manager like bro can we just make some small noise… but we were told not to tell anyone. I didn’t even tell my mom. You know how I am close to my mom… I couldn’t keep it. I was just saying it to myself.”
