Actress, Yvonne Nelson claims there is too much hatred and jealousy within the Ghanaian movie industry.
She thus advised her colleagues to desist from such behaviours and support each other for the growth of the industry.
“An industry full of hatred & jealousy. Learn to love one another and see how God will BLESS you,” she posted on Twitter.
The actress who doubles as a filmmaker and entrepreneur said her colleagues do not give the needed support to each other within the industry.
She noted that the industry is such that although their victories are beneficial to the country, it is usually difficult getting the needed push for creative pieces produced.
“Woke up this morning just thinking…… I don’t get why industry people hate each other so much!!! Like can you be happy when someone wins? And such wins are actually for Ghana Imagine being a blackstar player and hating when another player scores for GH,” she added in the tweet.
It is currently unclear why the actress has taken to social media to make such concerns known. But some watchers of the industry believe Yvonne Nelson made the complain because she received less or no support from her colleagues when she premiered a movie on Netflix recently.
Yvonne Nelson premiered a movie titled “Fix Us” on August 2, 2020. She’s set to premiere a second movie titled “Sin City” on August 5, 2020. The Pascal Amanfo directed movie was in Ghanaians cinemas on Val’s day last year.
It stars the Yvonne Nelson, Adjetey Anang, Kweku Elliot, Kunle Remi, Michelle McKinney Hammond, Gabriel Narh Addo, Regina Van Helvert, Rosaline Meurer and Oscar Provencal, among others.
