Talent manager, Ricky Nana Agyemang who is popularly known as Bullet has disclosed that the reason he is reluctant to sign more female artistes onto his Rufftown Records label is that they all try to sound like the late Ebony.
Ebony Reigns who was Bullet’s star artiste passed away alongside two of her friends in a car accident on the Sunyani- Kumasi road in February 2018.
Even before she was laid to rest, social media saw lots of artistes posing to be her look alike.
They tried to either dress and appear like she did or they tuned their voice to sound exactly like her.
Platforms were flooded with images grided alongside Ebony’s just to draw some resemblance, in an attempt to get the public to accept them.
Two years later, Bullet confirms the situation is still the same. He shared a picture of the late artiste saying he is daily bombarded with lots of messages from female artistes who want to be signed to his label but the originality factor makes it hard for him to what they ask of him.
He noted that no one can replace his “icon” no matter how much they try to.
He likened Ebony to Bob Marley, Tupac and Michael Jackson who are still celebrated years after their demise.
Also using the opportunity, he advised up and coming artistes to thrive on originality despite taking inspiration from artistes they look up to.
Some weeks back, however, Bullet disclosed he would have to put artistes through health checks; to know their mental health status before signing them onto the label.
This comment comes on the back of a misunderstanding between his two female artistes: wendy Shay and Fantana. The two take delight in fighting each other on social media anytime they feel like it.
When Bullet tried to solve the issue and invited Fantana, she stood them up which could be the reason he made the comment.

“Everyday, i receive tons of messages and music from various female artistes who desire to be signed unto my label but it is always hard for me to comprehend because they all sound like my precious Queen, Ebony Reigns.
I know and can categorically state that no one can replace Ebony Reigns, so, it is always hard for me to sign them.
Remember i never mentioned anywhere that i wanted to replace Ebony reigns, not even when i was introducing the current reigning queen of Ghana music @wendyshayofficial because ebony is irreplaceable. Ebony is like Bob Marley ,Tupac and Michael Jackson. She is irreplaceable. She is the first female artiste of the year and she is still the artiste of the year even after her demise. It has been almost 3 years, y’all not scared of such an icon. This is free advice to all young upcoming female artistes, everyone can take inspiration from Ebony but never try to talk or sound like her. Originality is supreme. Long live the queen, Ebony reigns forever.”
