Actress Gloria Sarfo has disclosed that many companies were prepared to fund her marriage ceremony except they learned it was not real.
In June this year, Gloria Sarfo took to Instagram to share pictures of herself and Mikki Osei Berko who is popularly known as Dada Boat.
The poses could be mistaken for pre-wedding photos. The public bought the lie and the two played along for weeks.
According to her, lots of companies reached showed interest in her love story to the extent they wanted to contribute their services to the success of the marriage ceremony.
But she had to tell them the truth which broke their hearts.
In a recent interview with Ola Michael on Neat FM, Gloria explained she only pulled the prank to get hype for a series in which she played a couple with Dada Boat.
She added that the whole thing was not prearranged but Dada Boat and the whole thing had to play along after they saw how the public reacted to the news.
“It was a movie series. Looking at the message it carried, we needed to give it the needed attention. I think it worked out perfectly… Even Mikki knew nothing about it but funny enough, he played along when he saw it. I started it but I didn’t imagine it’d get that much attention… My management team was amazed because I didn’t even tell them,” she said.
“If the marriage was real, we wouldn’t pay for anything. We had people who called, they were ready to sponsor Mikki’s shoes, mine, my gown, our rings. A very huge jewellery shop in Ghana said they’d sponsor the ring no matter the cost of our choice, they’d sponsor our Jewellery. Some people said they’d take care of the decor, another said event centre, food, like virtually everything …it was going to be well sponsored if it was true,” she recounted.
