One motivational message that trended on social media for months during the lockdown is “learn a new skill”. While some used it to discover their acting talent for TikTok, others learnt all kinds of skills and some others use the period to relax.
Songstress Mzvee has disclosed she used the period to rekindle her love for cooking.
The president, Nana Akofo-Addo announced a lockdown of Greater Accra and Greater Kumasi which took effect 1 am March 30, 2020, and lasted for 3 weeks.
Speaking to David Sakyi on Citi TV on Friday, August 21, 2020, she noted that she knew her way around the kitchen but she did not have a love for cooking until the lockdown.
When she was asked if she has any interests aside from singing, she replied, “Yeah, recently cooking. I’m shocked myself. It’s the lockdown. The lockdown forced me to start doing a lot of things.”
She further explained: “I never liked cooking. I could cook but it wasn’t a thing I enjoyed but then the lockdown was very stressful. You know you couldn’t go anywhere and it took my mind off a lot of things so it became a bit of a fun thing for me.”
Mzvee is out promoting her fourth song: ‘Baby’ since returning to the music scene.
Touching on the song, she said she has been in love before adding that she did not quite understand what it entailed at the time.
Singing about ‘Baby’ she says has nothing to do with her.
