We copy EL but our originality is that we’re twins – DopeNation

Music duo DopeNation has replied critics who feel they are not original because they copy rapper EL’s style.

According to most people, the twins, who were mentored by EL, sound so much like EL that it is taking the rapper’s shine.

They believe they cannot claim originality while coping another artiste.

But in an interview with Ghana Weekend.com, the twins noted that people even mistake their talking voice for EL’s.
They explained that the one feature that makes them original as musicians is that they are twins.

“Sometimes even how we talk people are like you sound like ELand we feel it’s a good compliment because EL represents greatness and EL’s music has done a lot in the industry so if you say we sound like someone who’s great, we feel okay,” they said.

They also said that coping EL’s style does not make them fake.

“Originality is based on what you hear and then how you put it in your own way. When you’re talking about being original, Dope Nation we’re original as in as soon as you see you, twins, you know this is Dope Nation and they do music.

That’s our originality. But then our music is Ghana Music. EL also emulated from somebody and we wouldn’t wait for EL to die before we emulate him,” they stated.
