Be present to receive your awards – MOGMusic urges fellow artistes

Vocal Artiste of the Year at the 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), MOGMusic has remonstrated that attitude of artiste not being present at award programmes to pick their awards.

According to the ‘Hallelujah’ singer, that takes away the beauty from award show.

Speaking to MzGee on TV3’s  ‘Simply Showbiz’ on Saturday, September 5, 2020, MOGMusic admonished his fellow artistes to try to be present and receive their awards.

He said even though it is understandable that some of the artistes go backstage to prepare to perform, others waste so much time backstage, when they can be seated, wait till it is their turn to perform before they vacate their seats.

“It’s so disrespectful. You look at award programmes abroad and all the big names are seated. When you mention their names, they get up in their suits whether to receive their awards. When it is time for them to perform, someone walks to them, prompts them to perform,” he said.

“Somebody will be sitting on a motorbike, waiting that they come on stage and somebody will be wearing construction wear,” he further noted.

MOGMusic concluded by saying the musicians should cherish their Vodafone Ghana Music Awards because if it does not go well, it affects the entire industry.
