Sarkodie’s controversial ‘Happy Day’ song was played at the Nation Building Update programme organised by the government, which is was held at the Academy of Arts and Sciences in Accra.
Wait! The whole song was not played; it was only the part that mentions “Nana Toaso” that was played.
Sarkodie, after releasing the song on Tuesday had a lot of people linking it to an endorsement for the New Patriotic Party and its flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo who is the President of the Republic of Ghana.
However, Sarkodie later replied a tweet by Nana Addo, suggesting that he did not do the song for the party.
Even though Sarkodie seems to dissociate his song from an endorsement of Nana Addo, some people are convinced it was just a smart move to lend support to the President.
Already, Sarkodie is dropping more subtle hints that he may be in support of the NPP. Earlier he tweeted “No 1” – a significant figure to the NPP because Nana Addo is No. 1 on the ballot sheet.
How will Sarkodie deal with this matter since the NPP has started using his ‘Happy Day’ song to their advantage?
