The Coordinator for Democrats Abroad West Africa, Apiorkor Seyiram Ashong-Abbey has expressed great appreciation to all Democrats living outside the United States of America for exercising their franchise in the just ended US elections.

Apiorkor, a Ghanaian-American living in Ghana and who voted in Pennsylvania, in a statement intimated that even though the task ahead is herculean, she is hopeful that election of Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States of America will restore all the lost glory.
The poet and broadcast journalist at Citi FM and Citi TV in Ghana, also added that she the US has suffered economic downturn, racism, police brutality among others in the past four years under Donald Trump’s leadership and would hope the Biden government heals the nation of all that.

Yes, we did it!
To every American who voted for dignity, for progress, for life and for a change that you knew the power of your vote could make possible – Thank you.
The task ahead is Herculean.
We are up against COVID-19 mayhem,
An economy that hasn’t been in such shambles since the Great Depression of the 1930s,
Systemic racism and police brutality that have become glaring over the last four years,
Blatant white supremacy and an unapologetic disregard for the things that affect women the most.
But then again – #Election2020 has been a Herculean task, and yet we have overcome it.
We can do this.
And to the Democrats of West Africa, who dared to vote from abroad; thank you for making your citizenship count and for showing the world the strength and tenacity that West Africans have been known to possess for decades.
We did it. We have have. America can heal, again.
