The President of the Creative Arts Council, Mark Okraku-Mantey, has revealed that he has intentions of becoming a Member of Parliament someday.
The music producer who is also the Programmes Manager of Hitz FM, made this known in an interview on Hitz FM’s morning show hosted by Andy Dosty.
Mark’s name has come up among others as those who are likely to be considered for the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture position.
Speaking to the issue on the show, he outlined his contributions to the creative arts industry, stating that he has the ambition to go to parliament in the future.
A few days ago, President Nana Akufo-Addo presented the name of Awal Mohammed, the former Minister of Business Development to parliament for vetting and approval as the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
Some have suggested that if calls by the creative industry stakeholders to have an arts-inclined person as Deputy Minister are heeded, Okraku Mantey will get the nod.
Meanwhile, Mark says he has not been apprised of any information by the President to that effect.
