Stonebwoy has reacted to the decision by the VGMA board to lift the ban that was placed on him and Shatta Wale after they were engaged in a scuffle at the 2019 VGMAs.
A year after barring them from taking part in the awards, the Board has released a statement indicating that the two can now file for nomination in this year’s award and subsequent ones.
Earlier on, Shatta Wale said in an interview on Peace FM that if the organisers of the scheme really need them, they should meet with him to talk business.
Yesterday, Stonebwoy also tweeted that the Board should have contacted them before issuing a press release on their decision to lift the ban.
He wrote: “Dear VGMA Board and Scheme organisers,I hear the purpose of the VGMA is to celebrate and project Ghanaian musicians and music. If that is so, it takes nothing from you to meet with us the artistes, or our reps before reaching decisions that affect us and communicating them to the public.”
“The right to be heard is a principle that applies in every noble society. Even the all-seeing God, who had already seen and known all that Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden, still made sure he heard them before he took action against them. #IfTheySoDesire really???” he continued.
Meanwhile, the VGMA is yet to announce the nominees for this year’s awards.
