The man who was driving late Ebony Reigns on the day she was had the accident that claimed the life of the dancehall artistes her two other friends, has been remanded into prison custody.
The driver, Okoh Pinehas Chartey, was remanded by the Nkawie Circuit Court.
About three (3) years ago, Ebony Reigns and her friends, Franklina Maame Yaa Nkansah and Lance Corporal Vondee Atsu Francis died in a car crash on the Sunyani-Kumasi highway.
The driver pleaded not guilty to the charges of dangerous driving and driving without a license when he appeared before the court.
He is expected to reappear before the court presided by Mr. Johnson Abbey on March 24, 2021.
According to the Ghana News Agency Police Chief Inspector Jonas Agyei narrated that the accident happened when Okoh tried to swerve a heap of sand on the road.
He was the only one who survived after they were rushed to the Bechem Government Hospital.
Chief Inspector Agyei further stated Okoh’s driving license had expired on August 28, 2015, before the accident, according to their investigations.
He added that the driver was charged and brought before the court following advice from the Attorney General’s Office.
