Nana Appiah Mensah, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zylofon Music has shared his thought on the ongoing discussion about how Ghanaian musicians can also ink international laurels like Grammy Awards.
This comes on the back of Burna Boy’s win at this year’s Grammys where he won Best Global Music Album.
Ghanaian music fans and enthusiasts, since the awards, have been talking about the right things to be done to place Ghanaian artistes on that level too.
Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM1, took to Twitter to congratulate Nigeria’s Burna Boy and Wizkid for their respective wins at the Grammys.
He also said wrote that despite “heckling” and “labeling” Africa will surely get there.
“Congrats to @burnaboy @wizkidayo &NIGERIA on your Grammy wins. AFRICA has been pregnant with lots of potentials for centuries, our generation SHALL ensure she delivers safely regardless of the heckling & labeling. This is not rocket science, fortunately, @zylofonmusic_ are u ready?
NAM1’s Zylofon Music, a few years ago, was hailed as the first Ghanaian record label to have had the right structures and resources for the music business.
It had artistes such as Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Becca, Joyce Blessing, Kumi Guitar, and Obibini.
The operations of the company rather took a nosedive about two years ago.
Currently, it has Tiisha, Akiyana, Kumi Guitar and Obibini on the label.
