Ghanaian Afrobeats singer Gyakie Acheampong, has said in a recent interview with Amansan Krakye on Kastle FM that her stardom is already affecting her social life.
Gyakie said that there is a woman who sells gari and beans popularly known as ‘gobe’ in her vicinity but due to her celebrity status she is unable to personally go out to purchase it.
“There is this woman in my neighbourhood who sells fried plantain and beans and it is one food that I really like apart from fufu but these days I can no longer go there to buy,” she revealed.
“Because if I go there to buy and I meet about 50 people there I would wait till they all finish buying before it gets to my turn but now I can’t go again,” she added.
Ghanaian singer Gyakie is really making strides both on the Ghana music scene and intentionally.
The good news is that she has entered the Billboard charts for the second time in just one month, with the remix of Forever’ which features Nigerian artiste Omah Lay.
The song has earned third place in Billboard’s Top Triller Global chart.
She follows American rappers, Kamillion and Cardi B, who occupy the first and second positions respectively.
