The Chief Executive Officer of gold dealership company Menzgold and Zylofon Media, has responded to recent claims that he has been allowed to walk freely after allegedly defrauding his customers.
This comes after Akuapem Poloo was convicted by an Accra Circuit Court presided over by Mrs. Christiana Cann for posting obscene photos of herself and her seven-year-old son on social media.
She has, therefore, been remanded into custody.
The court has deferred her sentencing to Friday, April 16, 2021 to enable her to undergo a pregnancy test in compliance with the law regarding a woman who has pleaded guilty in court.
Legal experts say she could serve a jail term of three years or be fined for the offence.
However, a lot of people have said that her offence is not ‘too serious’ to warrant a jail term or any punishment for that matter. In tandem with this, some have questioned why Nana Appiah Mensah has not been jailed for running Menzgold without the necessary documentation and consequently getting people’s monies locked up in his defunct company.
Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM1 took to Twitter to respond to his critics.
“Stop Misleading the public. Even on a foreign land I was acquitted and discharged, a decision that was affirmed by the Appeals Court and the Supreme Court. FYI: my granny wasn’t the presiding judge. Back home, I pleaded NOT GUILTY and I’m having my day in Court,” he wrote.
