Ghanaian filmmakers are not relenting in their campaign for the cinemas to be opened in spite of the coronavirus pandemic.
A petition has been sent to the government to open the cinemas and force operators to adhere to strict COVID protocols that have not yielded any results yet.
Apart from filmmakers like Kofi Asamoah and Peter Sedufia who have been very instrumental in this fight, Actress Yvonne Nelson has also started a trend with the hashtag #openourcinemas in this regard.
Known leading the #dumsormuststop campaign on May 16, 2015, against the erratic power supply in Ghana, this new project of hers seems promising, as it intends to augment the effort from the other filmmakers.
