Paa Solo, a veteran Ghanaian highlife musician has expressed his regrets in taking music as his career.
He stated in an interview on Happy 98.9 FM showbiz Xtra with Doctor Cann that “As I speak, I’m not receiving a pesewa from all my songs on YouTube but someone else is benefiting from it. I tried fighting for what rightfully belongs to me with my management but all to no avail”.
He also stated that his music talent is a God-given gift which should benefit and earn him enough money but nothing like that is happening.
With this reason, he will never encourage any of his children to pursue music as a career even if they have the talent.
He added that some people use his music without permission and anytime he approaches them to pay, it turns out futile which eventually results in leaving the matter.
He said his experience as a musician for the past fifteen years has not contributed to any improvement in his life nor yielded any visible result for which reason he will never let any of his children venture into music as their profession.
“Being a musician and benefiting from it is not easy,” he finally added.
