Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, addressed his fans and nation on June 2, 2021, focusing on the music industry and the future of music as a career in the country.
In his speech on his YouTube channel, he emphasized spreading out musical events across the country. He said that “Another important factor worth accentuating in music events and concerts is decentralizing shows in the country”.
According to Shatta Wale, major music events are mostly hosted in the nation’s capital, Accra, which does not help in promoting new and talented artistes in minority regions. “It must not continue to happen that all major music shows are organized in Accra”. He added.
Additionally, the artiste believes that decentralizing Ghanaian music is a move that will give government and investors reasons to open and establish more event centers across the country.
He also officially announced his return to social media after he declared he will be off social media for a while.
Shatta Wale is yet to release three music videos and five songs featuring Nigeria Naira Marley, Popcorn from Jamaica, and other artistes.
