Ghanaian musicians Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda popularly known as Mzvee, seems to be the only artiste breaking the Lynx Entertainment ‘jinx’.
Even though all artistes that left the record label have been successful, MzVee has been able to stay relevant in spite of the challenges she has faced.
The ‘You Alone’ singer’s 2020 music video for the song ‘Baddest Boss’ featuring one-half of R2Bees, Mugeez was adjudged the best music video at the first lap of this year’s award show.
This happened at the Industry Night of the awards held June 25, 2021.
This is the singer’s first award after her controversial exit from former record label Lynx Entertainment.
She is also the first ex-Lynx musician to win a VGMA.
MzVee beat stiff competition from colleagues Adina, Amaarae, Diana Hamilton, Joey B, Kuami Eugene, Kweku Smoke, Mr. Drew, Okyeame Kwame, and Pappy Kojo
Queen Vee grabbed three nominations at this year’s awards including Best Reggae Dancehall Song of the Year,” “Best Music Video of the Year,” and “Album of the Year.” and is hoping to win the rest tonight.
Reacting to the win on her official Instagram page she wrote “Wow! Baddest Boss featuring my Gee @mugeezxkamikaze and shot by @_justin_campos_ won BEST VIDEO at this years @ghmusicawards thank you to my team, fans, and family who have been on this new journey with me. Akpe Na Me! Thank you! 🔥🔥🔥”
