As the release date of the album ‘No Pressure’ approaches, Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie reveals his inspiration behind his upcoming album. Discussing this in an interview with Adesope, he disclosed his intentions behind coming up with such a title.
According to Sarkodie, there’s a lot of pressure in the industry in terms of acting on the choices and interests of fans. He believes such compulsion from fans can negatively impact artistes because they begin to work under great external influence. “I’ve been able to do it for ten years because I know how to quiet out everything and be in my zone,” Sarkodie said.
The Ghanaian rapper believes some upcoming artistes are influenced by fans to do things in haste which often hinders their longevity in the industry. “They fall off because of pressure as they are being dictated what to do by their fans”, he said. The rapper declared that even though the pressure now is more than before, he is not influenced by it. “Let creativity thrive in freedom,” he quoted.
He also added that although his fans complain about his change in style, his upcoming album is about doing what he feels.
The ‘Happy Day’ hit-maker is currently promoting his upcoming album ‘No Pressure’ scheduled to be released on July 9.
