The one-million-dollar cheque that was presented to the daughter Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah, Naa Dromo, as a wedding gift, is not real money, ghanaweekend.com has learnt.
According to Korankye-Ankrah who is the General Overseer of the Royal House Chapel International, the money which was presented was just a dummy cheque.
“They presented the dummy cheque of $1 million but people did not get the idea behind the presentation. They thought it was real money. What these people are saying is that one day during occasions like these, they will be able to present a cheque of $1 million and that is the statement they are making,” he said.
He, therefore, advised the public not to be pressured to do a similar thing because it was just a mere gesture by a group, to wish for greatness for her daughter.
“I thank God that they are prophesying that one day, I’ll be able to gift my daughter I million dollars. The cheque is a faith cheque,” he noted.
“I am being very careful at the moment how to choose my words because I do not want to present them in a manner that looks like they are joking. Because what you think is fun today, will become a reality tomorrow,” he further stated.
At the wedding ceremony which took place on July 10, 2021, it was reported that some friends of the bride gifted her a US$1 million cheque during the wedding ceremony.
In the meantime, it is alleged that the Ghana Revenue Authority has written to Naa Dromo with regards to the gift non-payment of taxes on her private business.
In the letter dated July 15, 2021, she has been advised to visit the GRA’s office on July 23, 2021, for a discussion.
