The parent organisation for musicians in Ghana is the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).
It sees to the welfare of its members. Even though it is not mandatory for every Ghanaian musician to be part of the group, they usually received a lot of flak from people when they go wrong.
In an interview Sammy Kay had with socialite turned musician, she was asked if she knew what MUSIGA was and her response was “what is that?”
Her response seems to suggest that she either did not know about the unio or she was just being sarcastic to spite the association that has gained notoriety among most musicians.
