A Kenyan tweep called Alex Mayore has asked Kenyan to cherish and hold in high esteem their rappers just as Ghanaians do for rapper Sarkodie.
Taking to Twitter, Alex who feels Kenyans have not celebrated their top rappers enough wrote: “One thing I’ve learnt is that @sarkodie is not just a rapper that man Is an institution. He is a national treasure to Ghana. They adore him Why can’t we Kenyans support our best rappers @OCTOPIZZO @KHALIGRAPH @RealShinski @RabbitTheKing with the same energy Ghana do for Sark.”

In separate tweets, Alex also noted that most Kenyans began listening to Sarkodie after his collaboration with Khaligraph Jones.
“That got 1 million views in 24 hours Myself I got exposed to Sarkodie in 2015 or 14 When he worked with @Iceprincezamani he won me since #SarkodieLiveInKenya,” he wrote.
He, however, added in another tweet that Sarkodie deserves a statue “next to the great Kwame Nkrumah in Accra.”
“He’s so important to the culture. Our Ghana Embassy in Nairobi should have Sarkodie photo,” he further noted.

This comes a few days after Sarkodie was mauled for saying in an interview in Nigeria that Ghanaians do not celebrate his special moments.
