Sherifa Gunu says she does understand why her brand is accepted outside the country but not in Ghana.
She told Graphic Showbiz that she produces fantastic music but it is hard for her to be recognised here in Ghana.
She says she has been to different countries and the response has been very encouraging.
According to Sherifa, she would have been a bigger artiste if she was in Nigeria, Mali, or South Africa.
Sherifa also said it was about time Ghanaians appreciated good music and good stagecraft.
Meanwhile, Sherifa is gearing up for a performance at the Africa Most Beautiful (USA) pageant.
She is also getting ready for a new album which will be released in December.
The album, she says, will be her best so far considering the calibre of people she has featured.
