It wasn’t ‘Mother’s Day’ but the atmosphere at Nana Asaase’s ‘Mental Pictures V’ was one filled with a lot of adulation for mothers.
Dubbed ‘Confluence: the flute belongs to Mother,’ the programme took place on Friday, September 17, 2021, at the Accra City Hotel.
The programme put together by poet and literary coach, Nana Asaase, took the form of literary readings, cultural renditions fashion, music, and art exhibition.
The ‘Mental Pictures’ event after taking a break for six years, bounced back with a bang, as all the performers enthralled patrons with their crafts.
Apart from Nana Asaase, other artists that performed at the event are Chief Moomen, Nii Saki (Roverman), Ewurabena, Yayra Xylophone, Terry, Emma Ofosua Donkor, and Mc Nii Mantse.

Dr. Akumaa of the School of Performing Arts, Daniel Kojo Delong, and Narkie Dowuona Ocran also made appearances.
Ghanaian International Fashion Designer Sally Torpey presented snippets of ‘The Year Of Colour’s collection, with Esther Kaki Caesar coming through with the Art Exhibition.
The Legon Palmwine Band also provided a solid music backing for all the performances.
Hashmullah, with his guitar, performed a string of gospel songs before adding his own compositions, spicing it up with some spoken word.
The Dzuta Cultural troupe completed the show with their traditional drumming.

‘Mental Pictures V’ was sponsored by GTP, Accra City Hotel, Global Media Alliance,Perception Management International (PMI) and Nutriday.
It was supported by National Folklore Board, powered by Asaase Inscriptions, Sallet Fashion House and directed by Selasi Daphnies of Selsi Productions.
Born Philip Boakye Dua Oyinka, Nana Asaase has etched his name in Ghana’s entertainment industry as one of the brilliant poets the country has produced.
With a blend of English and Twi in his poetry works, Nana Asaase has performed at a lot of high-profile events in Ghana and abroad.
