It is now common knowledge that ‘Ayeyi Nnwom’ by Kofi Sarpong was written by Akwaboah Jnr.
But what is unknown is the history behind that song.
Akwaboah told Afia Amankwah in an interview that he already had prepared a gospel album for release. So he just gave out one of the songs to Kofi Sarpong.
Kofi Sarpong said on Rainbow Radio that the song was a blessing to his career.
Kofi, who used to sing at churches said after one of his church ministrations, his manager Akwasi Ernest who happened to be in the congregation, later approached him and asked if he can take him to the studio.
After he agreed to work with him, one day, he brought Akwaboa to his office with a keyboard and taught him the song ‘Ayeyi Nnwom’.
