Popular Ghanaian guitarist, Odikro Baako Pe, has advised musicians to adopt the culture of saving money during their prime to guarantee a stress-free future when they retire.
The instrumentalist, who appeared as a guest on Citi TV’s The Chat show, admitted that instrumentalists are not given adequate remuneration despite the vital role they play in music production.
He said even though he was paid as low as 30 cedis for studio sessions in the beginning of his career, he was able to finance a housing project which he now owns as his official residence.
He encouraged instrumentalists, particularly, to invest in other businesses to enable them have multiple streams of income.
