It appears being wealthy comes with its troubles! Some rich people have come out to talk about how difficult life has been for them.
A few weeks after Ghanaian rapper, Medikal, said he misses being poor and that being rich is boring, he seems to have a partner-in-thought.
American singer of Senegalese descent, Akon, has also said he lived a happier life when he was poor.
According to him, he has grown to accept the reality that life is harder for the rich than the poor.
He said this in an interview with TMZ about actor Michael K. Williams’ death, which occurred in September 2021.
He cited Williams’ death as proof that the more money one makes, the more problems one has in life.
“Nobody can sit there and tell me, that I didn’t go through poverty. I was the young African kid, barefoot and playing soccer in the village with no electricity, no running water, I knew what that looked like – believe me, I know what poverty looks like,” he said.
“But I also know what success looks like, and from my personal experience, I’m having more problems successfully dealing with all that comes with success than I had when I was poor. I was actually happier when I was poor,” he added.
