Gospel singer, Celestine Donkor, disagrees with people who hold the notion that Ghanaian music lacks the quality to compete internationally.
Speaking in an interview with A. J. Sarpong on ‘The Chat’ show on Citi TV, Celestine explained that contrary to the widespread opinion that Ghanaian music does not have a wider international appeal, the situation is different when Internet streaming numbers are taken into consideration.
The singer said Ghanaian artistes are recording high online streaming numbers, and much of the data indicates that the music consumers live outside the country.
Celestine Donkor said her recent trips outside the shores of Ghana and interactions with foreign fans further validates the fact that Ghanaian music is soaring in popularity far beyond the nation’s borders.
