Ghanaian broadcaster, Kofi Okyere Darko, popularly known as KOD, has registered his displeasure with how most radio stations in Ghana don’t pay attention to musicians who do ballads.
In a Facebook post, KOD said the attention of the radio stations has been on just dance songs.
According to him, he listened to Adele’s latest single ‘Easy on Me’, and wondered whether Ghanaian musicians cannot do such types of music.
“Listening to Adele’s ‘Easy on Me’ and wondering why our musicians rarely write such beautiful ballads. Maybe because traditional media doesn’t play such songs these days unless if it’s foreign. Most of the stations are playing like disco all day these days. It doesn’t help musicians who don’t do dance music,” he wrote.
KOD, a media buff, has also been involved in the Ghanaian music industry for a long time.
He has managed artistes such as Wutah and Praye, and has over the years played music on his various radio shows.
