Ayat Maqwam Salis, better known by his stage name Kirani Ayat makes a return in visuals after a hiatus from music.
While many may await the release of the much talked about debut album, ‘Aisha’s Sun,’ Ayat chronicles his bittersweet experience on a first-time road trip to Togo, before the lockdown in 2020.
His latest single ‘Journey’ which didn’t make it to the album arrives with a new self-directed documentary film.
“The weekend before the March lockdown last year I traveled to Togo, toured the country, ate some good food, got into an altercation with some army personnel and nearly got locked up” Ayat shared in a tweet. “All in the span of one weekend this inspired me to make this record” he added in a statement.ย
