Songstress, Wiyaala, has urged organizers of award schemes to research on artistes before placing them into categories.
Wiyaala was sharing her opinion on her recent nomination in the “Cultural Promoter” category of the maiden Ghanaweb Excellence Awards.
According to her, Ghanaian award organizers are known for placing musicians in the wrong categories, which does not help to enhance their image internationally.
She said she prefers to be recognized primarily for her musical prowess to enable her to achieve her career goals in music.
