New leaders have been elected to manage the affairs of the Arts and Tourism Writers Association of Ghana (ATWAG) for the next four years.
The election took place on Saturday, December 17, 2021.
The host of Showbiz A to Z on Joy FM and the CEO of Image Bureau, George Nii Armah Quaye was voted as President of the association. He takes over from William Asiedu, former Managing Editor of the Daily Heritage newspaper.
The Vice-President position was won by freelance radio and television host Livingstone Lotsu. Four years ago, Lotsu contested the same position but lost to Francis Doku, General Manager of TV3 and arts writer with Graphic Showbiz.
Hagar Gyebuwaa Owusu of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation emerged as
the Treasurer of the Association, with Rebecca Awuku taking over from Nana Reagan as secretary.
Fashion designer Adu Amani will be taking over from Mustapha Nii Okai Inusah, a writer with modernghana.com as the organiser.
Research Officer position, for the next four years, will be occupied by Stanley Awuku Wilson, a blogger.
Citi FM’s Kwame Dadzie will be handing over to entertainment journalist Gloria Akpene-Acquah aka MzGee as the Public Relations Officer.
The ATWAG elections were organized and supervised by the Electoral Committee, led by by arts writer, Osarfo Anthony.
The date for the Swearing-in ceremony is yet to be announced.
