Ghanaian actor and politician, John Dumelo, has said that the entertainment sector has a potential of shoring up the economic fortunes of Ghana.
In a recent tweet, he stated that the country seems too much fixated on natural resources while entertainment holds a great promise to boosting the economy.
“Our over reliance on oil, timber, cocoa, gold( even though we don’t add value to them before export) as revenue generation is getting feudal. Entertainment( events, shows, concerts) are the next big things that can make Ghana “Ghana”. We have what it takes….let’s get to work!” he wrote.
John Dumelo, is an actor who has added farming and politics to his entertainment business.
His tweet buttresses the numerous calls by the arts stakeholders on the government to make the entertainment industry one of its topmost priorities.
