Comedian Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng aka Funny Face has explained the rationale behind his family’s decision to prevent him from viewing the body of his late brother, Clement Boateng, who died aged 39 in December 2021.
According to the ‘Children’s President,’ the family, in a bid to prevent another catastrophe, took a bold decision to prevent him from seeing the body of his younger brother because they thought it could trigger a relapse considering his history of unstable mental health.

GYE NYAME “ 🙏🏾🔥 CLEMENT BOATENG ( KWAME ) I remember when you came to the Psychiatric Hospital with our sisters and u held my hand to pray for me with tears .. “ saying we are da only two men left in our family .. I can’t go crazy .. GOD will pull me through dis and I should stay strong for da family and my children .. bro GOD pulled me through but u died late December before I came home !! Ur death has hit me soo hard each and everyday I still can’t believe you dead and gone .. upon all da pain and traumas am going through.. your Death has made it worse .. each and everyday I wake up with different kind of pain in my heart ❤️ .. Family had to bury you without me seeing ur dead body because they were scared I might had a “ RELAPSE “ !! What is keeping me strong is da words u said to me at da hospital when u came to visit .. “ staying strong for da family and my children “ Am left alone now brother and it hasn’t been easy without you being around .. at least with you around .. we joke about da things I have been through and it makes me relax and calm and know there are better days ahead ! Spoke to DADDY today and when I mentioned ur name .. He broke down into tears and dat broke me down again brother ❤️😭 .. why now KWAME ! Am gradually getting better and staying strong for da family but dis “ CROSS “ is too heavy for me to carry 🙏🏾😭 .. all I have done is to bring happiness and joy to millions of people since I was born .. I have made some mistakes along da way .. but life hasn’t been fair to me ! Dat accident on da 28th of August 2021 on da ACCRA – KUMASI highway .. which could have torn me into pieces but GOD saved me ..makes me know JEHOVAH still has a purpose for my life .. will continue to carry dis heavy “ CROSS “ brother through pain and tears 😭 because I believe GOD is not done with me .. I should have been dead .. but through it all .. if am still alive .. I have to keep my head up and fight till da day GOD will call me home to come and rest ❤️🕊 .. Rest In Peace brother till we meet again .. 🙏🏾❤️😭🕊
