The 2021 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year, Diana Hamilton, says she started her music journey at the age of 14 while working as a backing vocalist for Francis Agyei.

Speaking in an interview on Citi FM’s Brunch in the Citi, Diana Hamilton said she was among the few singers who were featured on Francis Agyei’s ‘Metwer Obotan Bi’ and other projects in the early 1990s.

According to her, she had the opportunity to work with Zapp Mallet during the recording sessions and subsequently her own album in 2007.

Born in 1978, Diana Hamilton released her first album, ‘Ɔsoro Bɛkasa’ in 2007 and went on to win the music industry’s biggest award 14 years later.

She was adjudged the Most Streamed Female Act of the Year at the 2021 3Music Women’s Brunch.

She was also named among the Top 30 Most Influential Women in Music by the 3Music Awards Women’s Brunch.

Diana Hamilton’s most popular songs include ‘Mo Ne Yo’, ‘Awuraye’, ‘Yehowa Behwe’, and ‘Adom’.

The singer’s next concert, dubbed, Awake Experience, will take place at the Perez Dome, in Accra on February 13, 2022.
