Raphael Camidoh Kofi Attachie, aka Camidoh, has expressed gratitude to social media users for contributing to making his song, ‘Sugarcane,’ popular in West Africa and other parts of the world.
According to him, Sugarcane, which was released in December 2021, has risen to number 5 position on Shazam’s top 200 most searched afropop songs and currently included in the playlists of over 100 countries.
The 28-year-old, who is also a record producer, was on Citi TV’s ‘The Chat’ to promote the premiering of the official Sugarcane music video.
He said, he has been overwhelmed by the show of love and support from online TikTok users, who have been making interesting videos to promote the song since its release.
According to him, rapper, Tulenkey, helped him to get in touch with a TikTok video creator who decided to make videos with the song as a form of promotion.
“Tulenkey loved the song very much, so he introduced me to Tiktoker, ‘Sabrina,’ who also liked the song and seriously promoted it with her friends.”

Camido said he would release the official instrumental of Sugarcane, with the hope that some unsung artists will “jump on it” to make their own hit songs.
Sugarcane is currently occupying the number 2 position on the ‘Citi Countdown’ show on Citi TV.
