Ghanaian flutist, Dela Botri, has unveiled 2 albums ‘All in One’ and ‘Ghana Bi Your Own’ containing 32 songs which were recorded during the COVID-19 lockdown period.

Speaking to Ghana Weekend during the launch at the Goethe Institut in Accra, the atentenben master, revealed that both albums were recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic when travel restrictions were in place, and he could not leave Ghana to play international shows.

With 16 tracks each, ‘Ghana Bi Your Own’ has a more traditional feel, while ‘All In One’ gives a contemporary ‘urban’ vibe.

According to Mr. Botri, the albums were recorded with a vast array of traditional Ghanaian instruments, reflecting aspects of his recent directions with his bamboo flute and his knowledge of world music.

As the founder of Hewale Sounds, Dela Botri, tours the world and gives special lectures on atentenben music in universities.

In 2011, he joined Liberian star Miatah Fanbulleh to perform at the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize Awards in the Norwegian capital, Oslo and performed with the late acclaimed Malian balafon player Keletigui Diabate in Bamako (Mali) and Accra (Ghana).

In recent years, he has participated in the Cubadisco Festival (Cuba), World Music Village (Finland), Copenhagen Jazz Festival (Denmark) and the Pan African Music Festival (Algeria).
