Boomplay, the largest music streaming service in Africa, has been announced as a partner to Ghana and West Africa’s most exciting music awards scheme, 3Music Awards for its 2022 edition.

Central to the partnership, Boomplay is sponsoring three main categories of the awards this year – the Artiste of the Year, African Song of the Year and Breakthrough Act of the Year.

Scheduled for Saturday, 26th March 2022, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Center, 3Music Awards has become a leading music awards scheme pivoting innovation in the music ecosystem.

This partnership with Boomplay follows the unique relationship between the two brands towards supporting the music ecosystem and Boomplay’s reaffirmed commitment targeted at the growth and development of Ghanaian music. It will be recalled that at last year’s edition of the awards, Boomplay powered the Leaders of the New School performance productions and sponsored the Breakthrough Act of the Year category won by Mr Drew.

“Boomplay continues to be an ally for 3Music Awards, and we are excited that in our 5th year, we still get to partner with them for the 2022 edition. They were pivotal in the memorable edition of the awards last year by highlighting their support for the emerging artistes, particularly the Breakthrough Act of the Year. This year they are focusing on three top categories, and we couldn’t be more excited about what is in store for the winners and fans. ” Sadiq Abdulai Abu, CEO of 3Media Networks, organizers of the awards, explained.

Speaking about Boomplay’s involvement, Elizabeth Ntiamoah, General Manager for Boomplay Ghana, relayed that, “We are elated about continuing our partnership with 3Music Awards for the 2022 edition. Our commitment to supporting the music ecosystem to achieve its potential is key to this partnership. We believe our Ghanaian artistes and enabling stakeholders deserve to be celebrated and supported for the work they are doing to push our exploits further and grow the industry.”

Public voting for the awards has commenced and to vote for the three categories sponsored by Boomplay – Artiste of the Year, African Song of the Year and Breakthrough Act of the Year – fans are required to click on this link to vote.
