Barely a week after the election of the 7-member Board of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation, a chairman has been chosen.
Ghanaian highlife musician, Rex Omar, has been re-elected to chair the board.
The new board was sworn in on Thursday, March 24, 2022.
Last week, the election of the Board took place in ten different centres across the country.
The officers were elected from four fields that make up the organisation: composers, publishers, performers and producers.
The newly-elected GHAMRO Board Members are Diana Hopeson, Rex Omar, Kofi Abraham, Francis Omari Adofo, Elizabeth Tagoe, Yaw Agyemang Badu and Francis Boahen.

GHAMRO has been heavily criticized for not being effective in delivering on its mandate but the leadership says things will get better.
According to Rex Omar, he decided to contest for his position again in spite of all the flak because he has a mission to accomplish for the CMO.
