Ghanaian artiste Sista Afia seems worried about the low representation of women in the music industry.
She wishes that a lot more women win prizes at music awards schemes than they do at present.
In a Facebook post, Sista Afia wrote that, female musicians would have to stop doing the bidding for certain people so they could make this dream come true.
“Am waiting for the night, 10 or 20 Ghanaian female musicians will be picking awards back to back. I know it sounds impossible but that day and night will surely come. The ladies just need to stop kissing certain a€€ and know their worth,” she noted.
Her post comes, four days after Black Sherif and KiDi swept awards at the 3Music Awards.
The music industry is male-dominated, so it is not surprising that female musicians hardly win a lot of awards.
