Following calls by entertainment stakeholders for artistes to be present at award events to take their awards, Afro pop star Wendy Shay has responded.

After the 3Music Awards, some people complained that a lot of the award winners were absent, and suggested they put a stop to that behaviour.

However, at monitoring the 64th Grammy Awards, it came to light that some award winners were also not present to take their awards.

Responding to this, Wendy Shay wrote: “80% of the Grammy winners didn’t show up. Grammy sef Artiste no Dey rep. Mmo ma yen dwen y3n ho.”

Wendy is one of the few Ghanaian artistes who have expressed strong hope of winning a Grammy one day.

In the meantime, Ghanaian reggae artiste, Rocky Dawuni, who got nominated for the Grammys for the second time lost the Global Music Album category to Beninese singer Angelique Kidjo at the ceremony held on April 3, 2022.
