Piesie, better known for his 2001 hit, Police Abaa, was reportedly involved in a motor accident on April 4, 2022 at Pokuase, in the Greater Accra Region, barely a week after returning from Europe.
A source close to the deceased confirmed the news to Peace FM on Tuesday, April 5, detailing that the singer died from internal bleeding after he was turned away from a health facility in Pokuase where the accident occured.
“Piesie was rushed to a hospital in Pokuase but he was not admitted due to lack of beds, so he was later conveyed to Ridge Hospital where he died before arrival,” the source told Peace FM.
Nsiah Piesie will be remembered for his huge catalogue of ‘burger’ highlife music, including songs like “Me Nwe Aboo,” Wote Puupu A Wobidi,” “Anigyina Beku Me” and “Wontumi Spelli A Menkyerew.”
