Donations are pouring in for Kwesi Ackon, the taxi driver who went viral for sending back a passenger’s money to her.
According to ace journalist, Manasseh Azure, the Vice President of Ghana, Mahamudu Bawumia, has donated at sum of 20000 cedis to the driver for his honesty.
“Among them was Vice President Dr Bawumia, who donated GH¢20,000 to reward Mr. Ackon for his honesty and exemplary show of integrity. “Manasseh presented an additional GH¢2,500 from two other unnamed donors, making the total of GH¢22,500,” he stated.
2022 Ghana Music Awards Artist of the Year, Kidi also rewarded Mr. Ackon with 5000 cedis.
The taxi driver was hailed as a hero after returning an amount of GH8,000 which was mistakenly left in his car by a passenger.
In a video which has surfaced online, the passenger, a fish seller as Mallam Atta market, is seen hugging the taxi driver for not making her run at a loss.
The woman was reportedly devastated after mistakenly leaving behind her working capital in a taxi cab, but the driver saw it hours later and drove back to her location to look for her and present the full amount without demanding anything.
